The term "puzzle" is similar to English. "puzzle", which in translation means "puzzle", "riddle". The similar puzzle is inspired by the English cartographer John Spilsbury, who pasted a map of Europe onto a wooden base, sawed it along the contours of the European powers, and began to vikorize the “sawed map” to show the geography. The progressively cut-out pictures began to stagnate, not only for illumination purposes, but also for display in fashionable salons. The “salons” puzzles were for expensive people, because they were made from valuable wood. The peak of popularity of puzzles came in the 30s of the 20th century, when cardboard was used instead of wood to make them. A new round of its development was removed from the puzzle with the appearance of hand sublimation.

Currently popular sublimation hand on puzzles grows in arithmetic progression, as a barvysta, the gram is exclusively designed and can become a wonderful gift for children and adults, as well as an excellent business souvenir for business partners and the company's regular clients.

The sublimation tool allows you to apply high-quality color images, photographs, pictures, writings and logos to the puzzles. Such images are distinguished by bright colors and smooth color transitions, the smell is resistant to the influx of ultraviolet changes and mechanical erasing. With the development of sublimation technology, other puzzles can easily be prepared at home.

In order to independently engrave images on puzzles, we need: blanks for puzzles, an inkjet printer with piezoelectric technology, sublimation ink, paper for sublimation thermal transfer, heat-resistant tape, velvet tape and white office paper and thermal press.

Blanks for puzzles

Blanks for puzzles can be rectangular, square, round, heart-shaped or any other non-standard shape.

The greatest expansion is available in classic straight-cut blanks for puzzles, versions of which are presented below.

6x8 10x5 6x10
8x10 12x10 15x10

Popular types of straight-cut puzzle blanks for sublimation printing

Puzzles are made from cardboard and polyurethane, on a primary and magnetic basis. The most economical and accessible for buyers are cardboard blanks, the surface of which is lined with polymer storage. The polymer ball serves to secure the sublimation puzzles and ensures the durability of the puzzles before washing.

Selected solutions for sublimation printing on puzzles and magnetic blanks made from magnetic vinyl polymer coatings. Magnetic puzzles can be attached to any metal surface, be it the door of a refrigerator, the system unit of a computer, or the side panel of a washing machine.

Most often, blanks for puzzles are painted in a white color, or even colored copies are drawn. On white workpieces, the color does not change, it looks natural and is clean. If the workpiece has a third-party color or tint, then the range of colors of the finished puzzles will differ from their images on the screen.

Printer and technology

For other sublimation on puzzles, you will need a basic inkjet printer with a piezoelectric mechanical head. The cartridges of such a printer are equipped with a piezoelectric crystal, which crushes the metal plate and pushes microscopic drops of ink on the nose through the nozzles. The droplet flies from the nozzle like a core from a catapult, during which the black does not heat up.

Because the thermostring method is completely different, it is not suitable for sublimation ink, which, when heated to 160°C, goes into a gas-like process. In a cartridge with thermostring technology, the hand that transfers boiling ink, when heated, the ink will melt and settle on the inner walls of the cartridge without rubbing on the nose.

Sublimation ink

For sublimation design on puzzles, special ones are used sublimation ink, Before the warehouse, there are no ordinary barnacles near the water. Such ink, similar to physical authoritiesі functional characteristics with pigment ink, produce sparkles and barvise, resistant to sonic changes and grating. Puzzles covered with sublimation ink will last a long time, will not fade or fray under intense wear.

Sublimation paper

For other sublimation, a special sublimation paper with polymer coating is used. By rubbing on the nose, the ink melts into a polymer ball and is fixed in it, without penetrating into the clay balls of the paper. If a paper with ink padding is used in a thermal press, the ink with polymers will safely transfer to the surface of the puzzles, removing the pale padding from the image on the paper that was on the new one.

Types of sublimation paper

The forums are actively discussing the possibility of using a sublimation printer for office paper or a matte photo paper. These types of paper do not contain a special ball of polymers, so a portion of the ink, rubbing on their surface, penetrates into the crotch of the nose, and therefore does not transfer to the puzzles to be sealed. For a small representation of the front butt, sublimation ink is attached to different types paper.

Fixing sublimation ink on Various types paper

Washroom designated:

left hand - sublimation papier,

in the center there is a matte photocopier,

on the right is the primary papier

You can clearly see that only a special sublimation paper will ensure that the ink is reliably fixed in the ball of resin. On a matte photo paper, the ink spills, and on a standard paper, it gets into the back of the nose, so it is impossible to remove high-quality sublimation puzzles with the help of a non-specialized paper.

Thermopress

For the sublimation hand, vikorist thermopress– a device equipped with two thermal soles, between which the shoe can be squeezed between the crotch.

This little one presents several models of thermopress machines for sublimation on flat workpieces.

Thermal press for sublimation printing

The thermopress heats the workpiece, and the ink sublimates, passes into a gas-like state, and is fixed on the surface of the puzzle.

Sublimation hand technology

Having prepared all the necessary materials and tools, we proceed to image processing. In any graphic editor, you can adjust its size, brightness, contrast, and rotate it horizontally so that it appears like a mirror.

The image is produced manually on an inkjet piezoelectric printer. For others, the sublimation paper was dark. The picture is carefully dried and placed on a puzzle, secured on all sides with thermal tape or regular masking tape.

We heat up the thermopress to a temperature of 190°C. The lower sole is covered with clean paper arches, on which the workpiece is placed. The top of the workpiece is again covered with clean paper tubes and the upper sole is lowered into the heat press. There are two warm-up sessions of 20 s each.

A dekilka of water per hour and the temperature of sublimation transfer. On some sites it is indicated that the workpiece should be dried in a thermopress at a temperature of 190 to 220°C for 40 to 90 s. The signs taken with such significance are lost in a great mystery, since in most cases over 90 years of being in the press, the surface of the puzzles bubbles or wilts due to overheating. With such an extreme mode, Vikorist can prepare more than one.

It is recommended to work like this: close the thermopress for 20 s, after which we open the plate and lift all the parts of the sublimation paper through, assessing the softness of the hand. Here the adhesive tape will serve us well - we can evaluate the strength of the sublimation hand on the puzzles and whenever necessary, place the workpiece in a heat press for another 20 seconds. The picture will not be removed if it doesn’t come.

We blow out the upper sole of the thermal press and draw our workpieces from underneath it. Carefully remove the top ball of the paper and place the sublimation sheet on which the image is placed. Let's see the result. If your puzzles turned out bright and barvy, and the images on the crotch of the nose are faded and blurry, it means you did everything correctly. There was just a little bit left to finish the lines along the edges of the puzzles.

Now let's talk about those ready-to-use sublimation puzzles.

It’s better to choose the topics for the first puzzles that the baby will burst into in order to catch them.

You can make them by cutting them out on cardboard (or on original paper, and then gluing them onto the cardboard) and cutting into pieces a picture from the Internet that suits you. You can also use different types of intangible material:

  • boxes for packaging toys, gift confectionery sets, candies, children's food etc.
  • leaflets
  • vikoristany rose paintings

Yak work puzzles for the youngest

Puzzles for small children must be bright, large and made up of very few elements. Start with pictures cut horizontally, vertically or diagonally.

In about an hour, when the task becomes too easy for the child, the pictures can be cut into two parts.

For example, if the picture was cut horizontally, cut it vertically. And just like that. A picture that is cut diagonally, cut along another diagonal, etc.

In the photo are the puzzles that I made for my daughter when she was not born yet (the picture with half a head was cut diagonally).

It’s also easier for kids to put together puzzles on flannelgraph, because... the details do not shift or shrink. Images can be of any shape. I made the same ones for my daughter as in this photo.

How to make puzzles for older children

This photo shows my puzzles from old Radian leaflets with dots and numbers (photo from another blog).

And for these two there are puzzles that Marina made for her boys (pictures from the Internet with a car and a helicopter, cut up, cut and numbered).

Now you can cut out pictures in the shape of classic puzzles, gradually increasing the number of elements. Once the child gets used to putting them together, he can display the finished puzzles.

For preschoolers, pictures can be cut into a larger number of different shaped parts.

Everyone likes puzzles or else, you know, know what it is. This is a wonderful puzzle for the whole homeland, a wonderful time spent and great exercise for reason, memory and respect. Historically, the puzzles were created as if they were the original sourcebook. The stench was discovered in England by the merchant John Spilsbury in the mid-18th century. These were black and white geographical maps, glued to a wooden base and cut into pieces of different shapes. Each piece of skin contained a lot of information and, by collecting them one by one, it was possible to learn geography.

The first puzzles were even expensive, but quickly gained popularity in England and other European countries. In the 19th century, puzzles “penetrated” into America. Obsessive Americans have begun to seek revenge wooden base cardboard sheets, thereby significantly reducing the complexity of the puzzles and making them accessible to most people. From that moment on, puzzles became not only a source of help, but also a source of joy. They began to chatter about reproductions of artistic paintings.

For Shalen, the popularity of puzzles began during the hours of Prohibition in America. In addition to reproductions of paintings, photographs of natural landscapes, cars, celebrities, as well as pictures from films and cartoons, first in black and white, and then in color, became popular. Puzzle lovers formed teams and controlled the goals of tournaments to collect magnificent paintings from tens of thousands of pieces.

In Russia, before the revolution, puzzles were a fashionable salon item and were called “puzzles.” Unfortunately, the SRSR did not release puzzles. In Russia, the current “puzzle” has once again gained popularity, and is now available to the skin, in person, and online.

Puzzles are richly functional: adults often use collected pictures to decorate the interior, and for children, puzzles are both a toy and an exercise machine that develops logical thinking, understanding and respect. Well, and besides, a cardboard puzzle is a wonderful gift for God’s sake, you just need to choose the appropriate size, and the picture is beautifully illuminated.

Online puzzles: creating a picture

Puzzles – so much fun for all centuries-old groups. Today's producers produce a variety of pictures of any complexity and with any relish: from cartoon scenes to reproductions of masterpieces of light painting. The variety of subjects is impressive - still lifes, local paintings, portraits, genre scenes. For the treasure you can pick up a whole collection, for example, fairy tale characters and castles.

Puzzles are a universal gift. They can be taken alone or in company, they will help shorten the holiday in bad weather or brighten up “home arrest” when you are sick. We won’t tell you what fun it is to play with puzzles for children: they develop sitting stillness, respect and neatness, and with minimal effort in adults – even in children.

And, however, arrange things that will curb the enthusiasm of puzzlers. First of all, to collect great paintings you need a lot of space and time. Wait, not all family members will be captured in the double occupation of your masterpiece dinner table or the crowning place on kilima in front of the TV. For the puzzles themselves, such reworking can lead to expenses. In another way, once the picture is taken, the food starts to sound - “What’s next?” Shouldn’t we regenerate the mysticism for 2-3 thousand pieces?

Let's try to show you how to solve these problems.

So how do you put together puzzles? For example, you were presented with a beautiful picture with a gorgeous view of New York, but the size of the picture is only 86x116 cm. They sell, of course, special pins for folding puzzles, but, frankly speaking, they are expensive and do not fit all sizes of pictures . Our pleasure - don’t look around the Internet for a store to buy such a bag, but rather go to the nearest supermarket. And buy 2 (!) pieces of thin fiberboard there, the size of skins, in our version, 100x130 cm. So, it’s important, but not equal (or rather, equalized - here 10 times) cheaper per kilo. As you understand, the sheet format is the dimensions of the painting plus allowances on the skin side of about 5 cm. This is your work table/substrate – in short, a springboard for activities. On one arch you collect the picture, with the other you cover the collected part during an hour break. With this look, your masterpiece can be safely tucked for a day or two under the sofa, under a keel, or placed on the closet, with the edges of the sheets tucked in a few places with tape for safety. And be calm - your cat will not make any adjustments to the robot, everything will be lost in its place.

So, little by little, over the course of a week and a month, you collected the picture. And what now? How to arrange it? Our recommendations are to send you to the next store. What's the matter? For lining, self-adhesive material, moldings (yes!), glue, tarpaulin and varnish. What's the matter? We recognize it.

The collected picture is turned upside down - with two arches of fiberboard it is difficult to work with, following the principle of “heads-heads” for a coin. A sheet of self-adhesive melt with a dry ball is applied to the inside of the fold. We begin to carefully glue it - a few centimeters into the dry ball. To make it simpler, start the roll from the short side of the picture. Don’t rush, carefully press the glued piece of leather with a firm ruler, not allowing the bubbles to form on the surface.

The picture is glued in this way and is glued with universal glue to a sheet of fiberboard with a marking of symmetrical fields. It’s important to immediately create openings on the arches for hanging paintings - or rather, not one, but two on the great rise, one kind of one. Now let's start decorating the ramie.

A frame for a picture made from puzzles is a great luxury. Replace this baguette with foam moldings. Firstly, the stinks are much cheaper, in another way they are easier, and thirdly, they are easier to deal with. Everyday stores offer the widest selection - different widths and profiles, with different ornaments. Choose the molding to suit your taste, depending on your finished masterpiece. Suvora or a chimeric frame will be for your picture - choose you, as well as those, which color will be there. Think ahead, how important your work is, so make your choice easier, as needed, as design solutions are needed.

First coat the moldings with coated tarpaulin or metal pigment using a penzlik or an aerosol can. When the smell dries, use a knife to open the parts of the frame you need and carefully glue with universal glue to the sheet with the picture. If the margins are too wide for the selected baguette, cut them to the required width before gluing the frame. Opposite the flower opening, carefully remove the polystyrene foam with an awl, so that it does not burst when you hang the picture.

The finished painting can be coated with varnish - penzlik or an aerosol can. In the end, the coating will be even and you will be able to eat molasses. At this stage, you can create tricky, colorful and different effects of crackle or old coating – the head of the mother will appear to be dead, and even such decor is not suitable for all subjects.

There’s still not much of a hint. Pictures from puzzles can be paired with a garnet of brown. For example, on the puzzle of images at the moment you can place a room thermometer or a calendar on the side. Below the picture Kazkov's finger you can earn some guts for keys, and a little one with cartoon characters Garnim additional features become clothes for a child's outfit Think over the composition and draw up the dimensions of the base sheet - and let's get to work!
